When I started my weight loss journey two years ago I weighed 160 pounds and at 5 ft. 2 inches was considered obese. My size 14 clothes were getting tight and I refused to buy a larger size so that left one choice: lose weight and get fit and healthy.
I joined a gym and went faithfully 3-4 times a week. It was a slow process but eventually I lost 30 pounds and three dress sizes. The whole time my daughter, Vanessa, was encouraging me.
But then, several months ago, I got serious about exercising and started following Vanessa's workout guidelines and joined the Challenge. It's great because I can do the workouts at home or the gym. In addition, I changed my eating habits and followed the eating plan as well.
It was a process but well worth the effort. I knew I had to be accountable, not only to myself, but to Vanessa as well. When I was happy with a little achievement her words of encouragement made me feel like a million dollars and I wanted to achieve an even better result the next time.
Two months ago I couldn't do one push-up on my toes and now I'm proud to say I can do five! At 77 years of age I feel happy with myself and with the support of Vanessa I know without a doubt that I'm getting "better with age". Also, my weight is now a healthy 122 pounds and I've lost more inches and toned up so that I'm currently wearing a size 6 jeans. I am thrilled beyond words.
Almost forgot. One of the best benefits is that my acid reflux is a thing of the past. Thanks Ness, I couldn't have done it without you!!
